This privacy notice describes our policies and practices that protect your privacy while allowing us to share information when necessary or appropriate to provide you with competitive financial products and services.
Information We Collect About You
We collect information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications and other forms;
- Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other form (such as that provided by, but not limited to, current or past employers, or other institutions where you have conducted financial transactions);
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or other companies that work closely with us to provide you with diverse financial products and services;
- Information we receive from a credit reporting agency; and
- Information we may obtain from consumer purchasing and census data providers to develop competitive marketing programs for our customers.
How We Protect Your Information
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
Disclosure of Information to Parties that Provide Services to Us
We may disclose information we collect, as provided by law and as described above, to affiliates (companies we own or control), to companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. These disclosures typically include information necessary to offer financial products and services to you, process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of our Bank, comply with instructions we have received from you, or protect the security of our financial records. Businesses that we disclose such information to must follow our strict confidentiality requirements. We will not sell, or allow other businesses working for us to sell, customer information to telemarketing firms. We may also disclose non-public personal information about you under circumstances as permitted or required by law.
How to Stop Certain Other Disclosures About You ("Opt Out")
If you prefer that we do not disclose non-public personal information about you to our affiliate, MainStreet Financial Services, you may direct us not to do so by completing the "Opt Out" form included in this notice and mailing or hand delivering it to the address shown. If you have a joint account, an "Opt Out" request by any owner of the account will apply to all of the owners of the account. This "Opt Out" will not apply to disclosures that are legally permitted or required, or to disclosures we make to companies that perform services on our behalf or to other financial institutions that have joint marketing agreements with us.
Disclosure of Information About Former Customers

What Customers Can Do to Help
MainStreet Savings Bank is committed to protecting your privacy. You can help by following these simple guidelines:
- Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINs (personal identification numbers), and passwords. Never keep your PIN with your ATM, debit or credit card as it can provide access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen. We also recommend that you do not use obvious numbers, like your birth date, address or phone number, as your PIN.
- Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security number, etc., to others. If someone calls you, represents that they work for your bank and requests account numbers or other account information, you should beware. Bank staff will have access to such information and will not need to ask you for it. If you ever receive such a call, do not answer any questions; hang up, call your bank immediately and speak to a manager about the call.
- Keep us informed. It is important that we have current information on how to reach you. If your address or phone number changes, please let us know. If we detect potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity or use of an account, we will attempt to contact our customer immediately.
If you have any questions after reading this notice, please contact us at (269) 945-9561 or (800) 267-3830, or email us at msb@mainstreetsavings.com.
